Song Robbers or What???? | Nathaniel BASSEY

When 'gospel singers and musicians' steal the music and songs of others just to 'make it', I really begin to wonder if some gospel musicians are even saved to begin with.

A friend of mine sent me a message that really broke my heart. Please read.

"Hello Nath, somebody has released one of Preye's songs. One of the two she worked on with Emmanuel. I have the person's contact details. Apparently, he used to come to our church. After hearing the song he swapped churches then went to record. His video is on Silverbird TV Port harcourt. What do you think I can do?"

A few months ago, a 'music minister in the same town, recorded one of our songs, shot a video, all without permission, and then calls on the day of release to inform me.

Do we know God at all? Is this thing about having a hit by all means?

I forgave the other guy and decided he could go ahead, but sometimes folks need to know things have to be done in order and in truth.

Please if you are a music minister and have such tendencies, STOP IT!
Don't build your ministry and life on lies and deceit. Seek God, and He'll show you your place and portion.

In All Realms | November 12, 2013‏

A friend sent this to me and I felt to share...

Faith Food Devotional - In All Realms | November 12, 2013
"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth" (3 John 2).

The Lord Himself taught me about faith for finances many years ago. I was in the field ministry then, and I had been fasting and praying several days concerning a severe shortage of finances. The Lord spoke to me, saying, "Your trouble is you aren't practicing what you preach. You preach faith, but you don't practice it."

I protested, "Why, Lord, I do!"

"Oh, you practice faith when it comes to healing, and that is commendable," He said. "You've used your faith for salvation, the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and healing. But faith is the same in every realm. If you needed healing, you would claim it by faith and publicly announce you were healed. You must do the same thing with finances.

"I'll tell you what to do: First, never pray about money - that is, in the sense you have been praying. What you need is on earth. I'm not going to rain money down from Heaven. It would be counterfeit, and I'm not a counterfeiter. What you need is down there. I made the earth and everything in it. And I didn't make it for the devil and his crowd. Claim whatever you need. Just say, 'Satan, take your hands off of my money.' Because Satan is the one keeping it from you, not Me."

Confession: Jesus has redeemed me from the hand of the enemy. And in the Name of Jesus, I have authority to claim what God has provided.

Your Words and Your Life by Joyce Meyer

I am sure you have heard someone say, “You are going to eat those words.”  It may sound like a mere phrase to us, but in reality we do eat our words. What we say not only affects others, but it also affects us.
Words are wonderful when used in a proper way. They can encourage, edify and give confidence to the hearer. A right word spoken at the right time can actually be life-changing. (See Proverbs 15:23.)
We can literally increase our own joy by speaking right words. We can also upset ourselves by talking unnecessarily about our problems or things that have hurt us in relationships.
Not too long ago I had a disappointing situation take place with someone I considered to be a close friend. I noticed that each time I talked about it, I would have a difficult time getting it off of my mind for the remainder of the day. I finally realized that if I wanted to get over it, I was going to have to stop mentally and verbally going over it again and again. People kept asking me about the situation out of genuine concern, but I ultimately realized that I had to answer, “It is better for me if I just don’t talk about it.”
What Happens When We Speak?
The words that come out of our mouth go into our own ears as well as other people’s, and then they drop down into our soul where they give us either joy or sadness, peace or upset, depending on the types of words we have spoken.
“When we understand the power of words and realize that we can choose what we think and speak, our lives can be transformed. ”
God desires that our spirit be light and free so it can function properly, not heavy and oppressed. We can learn to choose our thoughts, to resist wrong ones and think on good, healthy, and right ones. I have often said, “Where the mind goes, the man follows.” And it could also be said that where the mind goes, the mouth follows!
When we understand the power of words and realize that we can choose what we think and speak, our lives can be transformed.
Plan to Say Something Positive
God has given His children a new nature, and we are taught to daily renew our mind and attitude. Having a positive outlook on life and speaking positive words based on God’s Word is one of the most wholesome things we can do.
When you get up in the morning, if there is something you need to attend to that day that you’re not looking forward to, you can say, “I dread this day,” or you can say, “God will give me strength today to do whatever I need to do and to do it with joy.” Which of these two statements do you think would better prepare you for the day?

As we have seen, we eat our words, and we can rightfully say that they are food for our souls. Anyone who wants to be healthy is careful to choose quality food that will provide good nutrition. If we want to be healthy in our soul and spirit, we should also choose to take in words that will build us up and increase our peace and joy.
Draw Attention to the Positive
I believe there are many good things happening in the world and probably there is more good than bad. But the evil is magnified in a way that often seems overwhelming. Turn on any news station or buy any newspaper or news magazine and you will find it filled with reports of murder, theft, wars, famine and all kinds of horribly tragic events.
We want to be well informed of what is going on, but to talk about world problems excessively or with no purpose merely creates a gloomy atmosphere that nobody will enjoy.
I recently walked into a room and heard a group of people talking about several businesses that had recently filed bankruptcy. Then they mentioned two others that they had heard were going to file bankruptcy. I felt a gloom hanging in the atmosphere so I said, “Well, God is not bankrupt and He is on our side.” Everyone agreed with me and immediately, the atmosphere changed.
I am not suggesting at all that we deny reality, but we can choose what we talk about. Instead of feeding ourselves a steady diet of “bad news,” we should choose to read, watch and talk about good things.
What Are You Talking About?
We talk a lot and quite often pay no attention to what we are saying, let alone think seriously about the impact of our words.
If we are honest with ourselves, we may find that some of our bad moods are directly linked to our conversation. Even some of our problems can be linked to bad choices we make about what we say.
I want to encourage you to take some time and think about the types of things you usually talk about. What kind of conversation do you enjoy and participate in?
How to Get More Joy Out of Life
Your words may not be the cause all of your problems, but they can cause a lot of them and they should be given a good deal of consideration when we are looking for answers to the problems we encounter in life.
We all have challenges in life, but we can make them better or worse by the way we talk about them. I don’t believe we can change all of our circumstances into pleasant ones by making positive confessions, but I do believe many of them will change according to God’s will. I simply want to teach you to be in agreement with God and learn to say what He says.

One thing is for sure, speaking negatively could hurt you and speaking positively never will, so why not go with the positive and see what kind of results you get?

GOD SEEKERS OF THE ELEVENTH HOUR | NOVEMBER 2013

21 So went the present over before him: and himself lodged that night in the company. 22 And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok. 23 And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had. 24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day...26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me...28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed... And he blessed him there. 30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
-              Genesis 32:21-30 {KJV}

It is interesting to note that the first mention of “eleven” in Scripture was in the passage above and that was before Jacob was left alone to wrestle until he received a change of name, a blessing and consequently, favour in the sight of his brother, Esau.

In reference to Jacob, it is written;

6 This is the generation [description] of those who seek Him [who inquire of and for Him and of necessity require Him], who seek Your face, [O God of] Jacob. Selah [pause, and think of that]!
-              Psalm 24:6 {AMP}

19 I have not spoken in secret, from somewhere in a land of darkness; I have not said to Jacob's descendants, 'Seek me in vain.' I, the LORD, speak the truth; I declare what is right.
-              Isaiah 45:19 {NIV}

Those who Seek His Face, don’t lose out on the benefits of His Hands.

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
-              Hebrews 11:6 {KJV}

May it be that as you begin a lifelong quest to Seek His Face this NOvember, NOmember of your family is left out as the Reward of Diligent SEEKERS comes your way.

6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
-              Isaiah 55:6 {KJV}

6 Therefore let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them.
-              Psalm 32:6 {NIV}
14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
-              Isaiah 54:14 {KJV}

May it be that as you “clock in hours” to Seek His Face in the “Kairos” moments of this “Eleventh Hour”, you and all yours will be protected, preserved and provided for.

THE MUSIC MINISTRY | Notes from Nathaniel Bassey (17th October 2013)

THE MUSIC MINISTRY: What it is NOT all about.

It's not about the hit songs
It's not about massive CD sales
It's not about millions of downloads
It's not about bursting the chats
It's not about being number 1 for weeks
It's not about a million 'likes' and friends on Facebook
It's not about a million followers on twitter
It's not about a million YouTube hits
It's not about awards & recognitions
It's not about limelights or spotlights
It's not about the red carpets
It's not about the paparazzi
It's not about making the headlines
It's not even about the concerts
It's not about honorariums
It's not about record deals

I'll tell you what it's all about...., JESUS.

" Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the Lord chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever."

1Chr 15:2.

Our primary function is to minister before, and unto the Lord. However, in the process, we may experience some or all of the things listed above. But they are not the focus and 'ends' in themselves. The stage and platforms are His. We only point people to him while ministering unto Him. We should not hijack His platforms. We may have the spotlight focused on us, but He is actually the one in the limelight. It's all about JESUS! May He reveal this and much more to us, and keep us humble and pure to the very end, in Jesus' name. Amen.

In No Time...

Great One,
Very soon, those that knew you will wonder at the New You.
May the Grace over you disgrace those that want to use their position and place to be an opposition to displace you.
May this season bring multiple reasons for you to not just smile but laugh.
May your field of endeavour yield abundantly and may the works of your hands be a reference point in this land.
May the goodness of God over you silence every evil of the devil causing you to be too elevated to be relegated.
Cheers!

Moving On | Notes from Nathaniel Bassey (18th October 2013)

Sometimes when you find yourself trying so hard to succeed and to make it in life just to prove a point to your 'ex' or those who may have rejected or hurt you, it might be an indication that you have not really moved on.

While the hurts and disappointments may sometimes serve as motivations to achieving your desired goals and dreams, they may also distract if not properly managed; as the pressure to perform could drive you to 'over-perform', so to speak - doing things you should not do and being who you shouldn't be.

It is important to truly forgive, move on, understanding that all things work together for good to them that love God. In fact, most times, folks come to realize that it was indeed a blessing in disguise to be disappointed when the big picture emerges.

So have you been jilted, disappointed, abandoned or left alone? I have good news for you. Jesus was rejected that you might be accepted. Jesus loves you deeply, and has never left you even for a second. Let his love fill your heart, driving and influencing all of your actions and decisions.

God bless you.

MULTIPLICITY | October 2013

28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “BE fruitful and MULTIPLY; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

- Gen. 1:28

The first instruction to man was to BE (exist, live)...

We don’t “do” things and then “be”, we “be” so as to “do”.

2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

- Romans 12:2

(When Nicodemus said “no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him, Jesus said “You must be born again.” - John 3:1-7)

May a fresh grace to BE all we were called to BE, come upon us, empowering us to do all that we need to do in this tenth month and onwards.

Then came the mandate to be fruitful (Fruitful Vine | September 2013)

11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 So the evening and the morning were the third day.
- Gen. 1:11-13

Bundled in the mandate to be fruitful, is the grace for multiplication. A fruit bears in itself the seed that makes it capable to multiply.

In this tenth month of DOUBLE (honor, favour, speed, grace etc), May the fruits you’ve produced hitherto (and those to come), usher you into the realm of multiplication.

7 Instead of your shame, you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.

-      Isaiah 61:7
