SUNSHINE AND RAIN | JUNE 2018

No one sits on the sun to restrain its rising.

The sun may appear to rise quietly but the effulgence of the noonday sun pours forth speech.

Just one sun, bearing its fruits to billions on earth.

18 But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.

Proverbs 4:18

1 The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. 2 Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. 3 They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. 4 Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun. 5 It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race. 6 The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat.

Deuteronomy 33:13-14

No one sits in the rain in an attempt to number every drop.

Rain announces itself; especially in its own season.
When it rains, it pours...and sometimes, it roars.

Nourished by the rain, earth brings forth harvest in several multiples of seed sown.

12 The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

Deuteronomy 28:12

3 ‘If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them, 4 then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. 5 Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

WHAT IFS

What if we had no consistency in the rising of the sun?
What if there was no certainty of rain to nourish the earth?

Father, thank you for elements of creation that remind us of your faithfulness.

Father, thank you for the assurance of unprecedented harvest in this season and especially in this month.

The sun is always shining.
If it’s night, the world turned. If it’s dark, something’s casting a shadow.

When things are dark and gloomy, it doesn’t necessarily mean God is absent.
Happenings around are subject to the Joy within.
A joyful man is difficult to put down.
May your life be full of Joy that unlocks needed energy for the rest of the journey; this June and always.

Excerpt: No mountain obstructing the light from the sun is ever really bigger than the sun.
When a sound is raised to the King, barriers in between give way...
...a sound precedes a move.
Kings hardly arrive unannounced.
As fanfare heralds a king, praises herald the King of kings.
When praises go up, prison doors open to receive the King...and release the prisoners.
As we engage the weapon of praise for the 30 days of the month of June, may long standing issues give way as the King of kings inhabits our praises.
May this indeed be the beginning of unprecedented and undeniable harvest via the sickle of praise.

GRACE AND MERCY | MAY 2018

Grace: favor or goodwill. A manifestation of favor, especially by a superior

Mercy: an act of kindness, compassion, or favor: something that gives evidence of divine favor; blessing:

11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,

21 This I recall to my mind, Therefore, I have hope. 22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

TIMES AND SEASONS | APRIL 2018

In most cases, a knowledge of time and timing, guides our actions.

Generally speaking, we know when to go out or come in as determined by appropriate timing.

32 of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command;

1^st Chronicles 12:32 (NLT)

If a season were likened to a train with several coaches;

then time could be likened to one of those coaches.

To my mind, time is like an event that occurred in eternity;

and eternity resides in God.

Our future is in God’s memory like our past is in ours;

true prophecy is a description, not an intention.

1 For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.

11 Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.

Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11 (NLT)

What a joy to serve the Almighty God who is not constrained by time and has the power to change times and seasons!

There’s no space for an extra hour between 11:59 pm today and 12:00 am tomorrow morning but, if man can “gain” extra time by flying across time zones, how much more will the Maker of Time who resides outside of time, step into time, to do in time what He spoke of before time?

13 You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come.

Psalm 102:13

20 Daniel answered and said: “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His.

21 And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.

22 He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.

WHAT IFS

What if someone like Elisha got distracted by the sons of the prophet and missed the timing of Elijah’s departure? (2^nd Kings 2:3)

What if the sons of Issachar had no understanding of the times, would all their brethren be at their command? (1^st Chronicles 12:32)

What if Daniel had not asked for time early enough, would his life and those of his friends be spared? (Daniel 2:14-23)

SUGGESTED PRAYERS
Father, thank you for your great mercy that has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. (1st Peter 1:3-4 NIV)

Father, thank you for yet another season in 2018; You are the reason I am alive. (Psalm 124)

Father, please help me to be discerning of this time and new season; I refuse to miss my hour of visitation. (1^st Chronicles 12:32, Psalm 31:15)

Father, may each month of this second quarter of 2018, deliver to me their fruits. (Deuteronomy 33:13-14, Psalm 1:3)

Father, please help me to eradicate all forms of distraction and time wasters from my life. (Proverbs 4:25-27)
Father, help me to know the proper time and procedure for every matter. (Ecclesiastes 8:5-6)
I pray that time and chance will begin to work in my favour in Jesus name. (Ecclesiastes 9:11)
