A Few Things 2021 Taught Me | Note To Self

Dear Bayor,

Congratulations! You made it to the end of the year! Here are a few things I think you should learn from this year.

1. Put God first

People may not see the foundation of a house but if it's faulty, the house will be affected in due course. Read the Word of God for yourself and pray. One thing is needful, choose it and it won't be taken away from you. Life is spiritual.

2. Nurture Your Mind

Ignorance is not bliss. Go for knowledge. Forget about reading so and so number of books per year. Just stick to reading for 22minutes every week day. Follow the #22MinutesChallenge

3. Take Care of Your Health

You'll be living in this body for as long as you are here. Don't subscribe to an early eviction because of indifference, laziness or negligence. Exercising for 20-22 minutes every weekday is a good place to start.

4. Make Money

Increase your capacity to earn more. Be an asset not a liability. You are generous person already; don't lack the resources necessary to be yourself. Pay yourself first.

Build your business but don't expect too much from people you know already. Some won't patronize you even if you are selling long life and prosperity.

5. Relationships

Family first. Period.

Stay connected to others but don't wear out your welcome. Sometimes, be silent for a while; acquaintances won't notice but true friends will hear. You are already aware of how fast people forget about those they don't see. Out of sight is out of mind.

Some people are not loyal to you but to their need of you. People are generally selfish so cherish those that genuinely care. Be one that does.

6. Obscurity

Be very comfortable with being ignored and overlooked. Being planted is not the same as being buried. Grow silently and let your height do the talking.

7. Goals

Pick one goal for the year. You may have more than one but be determined to see one significant goal though till the end of the year. What is significant for you may not be significant for another person; they are not you. Stay on your lane and run your race. Nobody will fulfill your destiny for you.

8. Appearance

Don't try to look rich, be rich. Don't impress others and depress yourself or your finances. Simplicity is the glory of expression. What others think about you is their cup of tea and none of your business.

If anything else comes to mind, I'll add it as a comment.

Have an awesome new season.

Me.
