THANK YOU JESUS | TESTIMONIES OF 2016

At the Crossover Service last year of House on the Rock – The Refuge Abuja, Pastor GoodHeart told us to ask God for just one thing that we wanted Him to do for us in 2016 and I asked Him for a change of address...

We started looking around for a place in January and on the 2nd of February, Psalm 44:3 became our reality when we moved into our home.

A few weeks later on the 18th of April 2016, we welcomed our beautiful daughter; Melissa OlokikiJesu Martins. God gave Diva, my excellent wife, such grace and carriage during the pregnancy that many didn’t know she was due on hearing the news of ‘Kiki’s arrival.

One other very significant blessing we experienced as a family in 2016 was “on-time-provision”. Psalm 23:1 became our perpetual reality as finances flowed in; sometimes from unexpected sources. There was hardly a month that we didn’t experience miraculous provision; often times before we prayed for it.

God further proved Himself as “The God That Makes Me Look Good”; not merely in appearance but in work competence. Times without number, I solved problems I had no skill set or prior knowledge of. In those moments, the Sweet Holy Spirit would whisper a solution that was spot on.

I thank God for miracles of preservation and protection; we drove countless times on the same roads that claimed several lives and property.

I thank God for the privilege and opportunity to serve in music and writing.

I thank God for the several other things memory might fail me to recount.

My family would like to use this medium to say a big "Thank You" to Jesus.

Twelve Baskets Full | December 2016

Thanksgiving creates more opportunities to give thanks.
In counting our blessings, we are more than likely to lose count especially when we pay attention to those blessings we think don’t count.

19 Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. 20 So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.
Matthew 14:19-20

What would have barely fed a few at first, became more than enough afterwards…
Challenges are somewhat indicators of blessings about to come or of those we’ve received.
The table is always closer than the enemies around...

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
Psalm 23:5

3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, 4 What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
Psalm 8:3-4

In taking time to pick up the extras, twelve baskets were realized.
When we take time to think, even the seemingly insignificant becomes a genuine reason to thank God.

17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”
Luke 17:17-19

Thanking God for what He’s done before is application for more.
May the blessings of 2016 be a tiny fraction of those to be seen in 2017.

God Bless You!

WayMaker | November 2016

When God's Grace opens some doors of opportunity we don't see;
God's Mercy keeps these doors opened until we notice and walk through them.

4the Lord called Samuel. And he answered, “Here I am!” 5 So he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” and he said, “I did not call; lie down again.” And he went and lay down. 6 Then the Lord called yet again, “Samuel!”… 8 And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. So he arose and went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you did call me.” … 9 Therefore Eli said to Samuel, “Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He calls you, that you must say, ‘Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.’” …10 Now the Lord came and stood and called as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” and Samuel answered, “Speak, for Your servant hears.”
1st Samuel 3:4-10

When THE WAY steps in, walls become doors;
He's not just "the God of a second chance" but "the God of yet another chance"...

21 This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. 22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. 24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”
Lamentations 3:21 – 24

1 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
Psalm 118:1

As regards the promises of 2016;
Two months, too much!

Like Samuel, may we locate true helpers of destiny, bearing worthy counsel.

God Bless You!

CREATING KINGDOM WEALTH | DIPO ONIFADE

But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: For it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
Deuteronomy 8:18

This topic is an inexhaustible topic but I will address my teaching practically. I have chosen to pick an area of Creating Kingdom Wealth that I consider important but neglected. The area appears inconsequential but is very important to creating and maintaining kingdom wealth. That area borders on the characteristics that a Christian must have in order to create and maintain kingdom wealth.

I’ll focus this teaching bearing the following simple questions in mind:

1. What are the personality traits of wealthy people?
2. What are the qualities that we should emulate in wealthy people?

The answers to these questions appear easy but are difficult to meet for a lot of us. I will however attempt to state six (6) really important characteristics of wealthy people.

1. REALIZATION THAT GOD IS THE ONE THAT GIVES POWER TO GET WEALTH
This to my mind is the foundation. Just like the scripture says we must first and foremost acknowledge God.

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

It is only after we have acknowledged God that we can fully take advantage of the powers that he has made available to us, including the power to get wealth.

Acknowledgement of God is like an eye drop that opens our closed eyes to see the powers that God has promised us about wealth.

Therefore, the importance of acknowledging God cannot be overemphasized. Why?

All natural resources are God given. Land, sun, water, oil, gas, minerals, forests etc.

Other resources that are not considered natural are also God given. These include ideas, attitudes, mind, imagination, intelligence, common sense, discretion etc.

2. HARD WORK
Hard work has the capacity to make us high achievers. Regular working hours are expected to be minimum working hours. Being energetic and putting in extra hours are traits of wealthy individuals. The desire for success and an entrepreneurial spirit propel hard working individuals to make their own decisions about setting up businesses and doing something they genuinely care about. The alternative to hard work in my view is being laid back and lazy.

We must ask ourselves the question:
Does a laid back, lazy attitude make for success in creating and maintaining wealth?

3. EDUCATION
Statistics show that well over sixty percent of wealthy people attribute their success to education. I am not saying that lack of education is a barrier to being wealthy or creating wealth as we also have close to thirty percent of wealthy people who have attained wealth through non-traditional routes.

4. SMART INVESTING FOR BIGGER GAINS
The higher the percentage of your income that you invest wisely, the bigger the returns. Big time investors believe that investing and saving money is more rewarding than spending money.

5. RISK TAKING
Taking risks from time to time without being impulsive in decision making is an important characteristic of the wealthy. When you are focused on building and maintaining wealth, you must be skilled at gathering and analyzing information to help you determine whether to say “yes” or walk away from an investment proposal.

6. FRUGALITY
This is a very simplistic quality of the wealthy. And it makes a lot of sense. The basic principle behind this is that you accumulate wealth when you spend less. It is good advice to avoid wasteful spending and shun an opulent lifestyle because it simply means we are able to apply more of our income into asset building and investment for returns.

In my view however, there are a lot more questions that we must consider and answer to help us discover ourselves and help in creating and sustaining our businesses.

Are you able to take risks? Creating wealth involves taking on a risk of loss of wealth, integrity, associates etc. How do you respond to the likelihood of these losses?

Do you present yourself as humble enough to learn? Or as an arrogant know-all kind of person?

Can you be trusted by people?

Are you hardworking and able to sacrifice for the purpose of your dedicated goal?

Do you easily get discouraged and lose hope? Are you easily swayed by the negative decisions of others? Do you bother so much about what people think about you and your ideas?

When you are successful what are your goals? Who will be the beneficiaries of your wealth? Are you willing to deploy your wealth to achieve the plan and purpose of God?

Do you have a conscience? Do you understand the concepts of good and bad, right and wrong, Godly and ungodly?

How do you handle the wealth that God has given you?

There is a common saying that you never know a man until he has money.

An important lesson for success in wealth creation is that we must learn to master wealth.

How do you show that you have mastered wealth? The only way you show that you have mastered wealth is when, apart from God, no one (except you) can see the difference in your lifestyle. There will be no difference between what you do at the time you have money and when you do not have.

In my view these are issues that we must have at the back of our minds.

Like I said earlier, the posers appear simple but may be tricky and when we search ourselves we may discover that we are not able to answer most in the correct way.

Free Indeed | October 2016

It is tougher to break free from mental chains especially when they are not known to exist.
Not every prisoner is behind bars.
The restraining effect of a brake is more evident on a vehicle about to move or one already in motion.

30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.” 31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” 32 And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature…and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”
6 But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, …spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land.
Numbers 13:31-33; 14:6-7

31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” … 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
John 8:31-36

Until it comes to pass, a prophecy sometimes sounds like a lie to the one receiving it.
Physical evidences sometimes contradict the spoken word.
An uncommon voice of wisdom always stands out from many voices of common reasoning.
If everything He did could be explained away, God wouldn’t be deserving of our worship.

1 Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord: ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.’” 2 So an officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, “Look, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, could this thing be?” And he said, “In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.”
2nd Kings 7:1-2

3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters; The God of glory thunders; The Lord is over many waters. 4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; The voice of the Lord is full of majesty. 5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars, Yes, the Lord splinters the cedars of Lebanon…7 The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire. 8 The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness; The Lord shakes the Wilderness of Kadesh. 9 The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth, and strips the forests bare; and in His temple everyone says, “Glory!”
Psalm 29:3-9

May the LIBERATING POWER of God’s Word in this season, bring about RESTORATION for us as a nation and as individuals.

God Bless Nigeria.

God Bless You

Worth The Wait | September 2016

A new born baby delivered at the ninth month is the “adult” form of a fetus.
Were the fetus to exit the womb at the early stages or some months before the time of delivery; it’s mostly termed a miscarriage or premature birth.
Regardless of how long the parents may have waited to have a baby, once pregnant, the mother has to go through the nine-month process.

10 For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. 11 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Hebrews 6:10-12

The pain and rigour of both the pregnancy and delivery process pales into insignificance at the arrival of the newly born.
The initial cry of a newborn baby is more of an announcement of a miracle than an expression of pain.
A baby that arrives silent from the womb is a cause for concern…

3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.
Habakkuk 2:3

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
Romans 8:18-19

Like a child born in due season, may your life and destiny continue to speak in distinct and unmistakable volumes from this month on.

God is a Promise Keeper.

God bless you.

THE 10-MINUTE MIRROR CHALLENGE | Nathaniel Bassey

Shalom Everybody,

Do you know your mirrors at home can do more than helping you check out your hair, clothes, face, body etc?

Do you know it can be useful in shaping your future and destiny?

How often do you stand in front of it and speak life-words into that person you are looking at? Calling forth God's promise and eternal words into manifestation?

Have you ever thought of a 10-minute mirror challenge every day for the rest of this year where you speak ONLY the prophetic word of God over that son or daughter of the Most High you are looking at?

Can we just try this out and see what happens come 1st January, 2017?

Why use it to just dress your body when you can use it to dress your entire destiny??????

Just an idea..... just an idea

- Nathaniel Bassey
