Today's Quote
When man was created, it was all good.
It was when man became fully functional in his assignment that it was
now “not good” for him to be alone.
The assignment and assessment came before the assistant.
18 The Lord God said, “It isn’t good for the man to live alone. I need to make a
suitable partner for him.”
Genesis 2:18 (CEV)

ReplyDeleteChapter 4
Verse 7 NLT
You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”
- God is not a respecter of persons (Romans 2:11, Acts 10:34) but in the KJV, Gen. 4:4 reads "... And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:"
- God sees us before our offering.
- It's been said, "if you do it well, you will do well".
- James 4:17 AMPC
So any person who knows what is right to do but does not do it, to him it is sin.
Verse 15 NLT
The Lord replied, “No, for I will give a sevenfold punishment to anyone who kills you.” Then the Lord put a mark on Cain to warn anyone who might try to kill him.
- Though cursed, he still enjoyed divine immunity. How much more we that are blessed?
- Galatians 6:17 ESV
From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.

ReplyDeleteChapter 5
Verse 1-2 AMPC
This is the family tree of the human race: When God created the human race, he made it godlike, with a nature akin to God. He created both male and female and blessed them, the whole human race.
- godlike! - John 10:34 KJV: Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
Verse 24 MSG
Enoch walked steadily with God. And then one day he was simply gone: God took him.
- May we finish strong after years of consistent and faithful walk with the Father!
Verse 29 NIV
He named him Noah and said, “He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the Lord has cursed.”
- What we keep saying, we keep saying. A child's name is truly prophetic. Even when they behave inconsistent with their name or destiny, it's wisdom not to pronounce or label them wrongly else we see them manifest it the more! You may think it, but don't say it over your child. May we be empowered to speak positive words over our children always.

Verse 8 MSG
But Noah was different. God liked what he saw in Noah.
- Father, may I always delight you.
Verse 22 MSG
Noah did everything God commanded him to do.
- I receive the grace for complete obedience.

ReplyDeleteChapter 7
Verse 5 MSG
Noah did everything God commanded him.
- Repeated for emphasis. Oh for grace to obey completely.
Verse 11 NLT
When Noah was 600 years old, on the seventeenth day of the second month, all the underground waters erupted from the earth, and the rain fell in mighty torrents from the sky.
- We're never too old to start living our dream or fulfilling our reason for being. Isaiah 43:18-19 and Philippians 3:14 seem to say, "forget about the years you've lost, focus on (and make the most of) the ones you have left.
Verse 21 - 23 NLT
21 All the living things on earth died—birds, domestic animals, wild animals, small animals that scurry along the ground, and all the people.
22 Everything that breathed and lived on dry land died.
23 God wiped out every living thing on the earth—people, livestock, small animals that scurry along the ground, and the birds of the sky. All were destroyed. The only people who survived were Noah and those with him in the boat.
- Seems to me, the fishes and sea creatures weren't affected. Who knows, the sharks might have feasted throughout the flood while other sea creatures enjoyed the temporarily expanded territory.
No matter how high you rise, keep your roots deep.
