Authenticity begins with self-awareness.
It is easy to say, “Be yourself,” but that requires knowing who you are; your values, strengths, weaknesses, convictions, and the things that truly matter to you.
Without that understanding, you may spend your life imitating others, seeking approval, or shaping yourself around expectations that were never yours to begin with.
Take time to understand yourself. The clearer you are about who you are, the less pressure you feel to become someone else.
You cannot live authentically by an identity you have never taken time to discover.
How can you be yourself if you don’t know yourself?

For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer,
he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way,
and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
James 1:23-24 KJV
